“I wish I could just rent my clothes,” said me over a decade ago. Note to self, next time you have an awesome idea, follow through with it! May I have the pleasure of introducing….Rent the Runway Unlimited.
I knew about Rent the Runway for formal dresses for weddings and occasions but last summer I heard that Rent the Runway expanded into general clothing (including outerwear and accessories). Four designer pieces to choose from at a flat monthly rate, exchange them any time you like for a new piece or keep them as long as you like. Two day shipping is included as well as dry cleaning (they do not use the toxic chemical Perchloroethylene). Want more than four pieces, you can choose to add a slot or remove it at as you wish or even pause (or cancel) your membership at any time if needed. What’s the catch? None. Zero. It’s awesome.
“I wish I could just rent my clothes,”
I was initially skeptical and I think the hardest part was choosing my first shipment, which looking back seems silly because if I didn’t like it, I could just send it back for something else. The range of selection is fantastic with over 350 brands to choose from including a new sustainable designers category. There are two options for plans depending on price point and new pieces are coming in constantly. I still plan to purchase staple pieces in my closet, but why not enjoy designer clothes at your disposal as often or as long as you like. Not to mention I actually spend less now on clothing because I have a revolving door of options (cue my dream request from years ago). Fall in love with a garment and don’t want to give it up? No problem, Rent the Runway offers discounts for the pieces you currently have on rental. Now that we’ve discussed the details, let’s move to the fun stuff.
Fashion Find – Exhibit A
I recently received this VINCE. Chrysanthemum Jumpsuit. It’s 100% silk and light as air, it’s hard to tell in the pictures but the color of the garment is navy with cream colored flowers. The fit is true to size with an elastic waistband, buttons from the waist up to create a flattering V-neckline and cap sleeves. To me this piece just screams versatility, dress it up or down, wear it to the office, casually with sandals or sneakers, or anywhere in between.
Oh and did I mention it has pockets??
I love pockets in everything from dresses and skirts to jumpsuits. Pockets for everyone!!
I also just received a Tory Burch Printed Cotton Dress and two blouses which you’ll see in the next post. I can’t wait to show them to you and share my finds. It doesn’t look like I’ll be straying from this service anytime soon so stay tuned for more Rent the Runway finds!
