Welcome back for our sixth edition of Try It On Tuesday! I took a break last week from writing because sometimes life takes over and other items have to go on hold. As much as I believe I can power through almost anything, I do have to remind myself that I am only one person and there are only so many hours in the day!

I have a mixture of items for you this week from various brands and styles, so let’s get started!

Wide Leg Crop Pants

To kick us off on this week’s journey, may I present a green animal print pant to add color to your day! This wide leg crop pant from Halogen and available at Nordstrom is such a fun print, colorful, and very versatile! The style of this pant comes in 6 different colors/prints (standard black if the prints are not your jam) and is also available in petite sizes (which I am wearing).

There is an elastic band on the waist hidden by the sash that ties at the waist. The flowy material makes these figure flattering as well as very comfortable. I have them styled with heels and a t-shirt for a casual night out, but you could easily swap the heels for sandals and your favorite tank. Add a jean jacket for a cooler evening and even a white sneaker for a relaxed urban feel.

These pants are perfect for the office as well with a blouse and blazer or cardigan paired with some pumps. I think you can easily pop in some boots as the weather cools down since the material is versatile enough to wear all year long.

The pop of color makes me happy and so does the ability to wear them for all occasions!

Gibson Blazer

I have spoken about this blazer before but it is just too good to discuss only once. I am wearing the Ivory, which is looks very white (I can wear it with white jeans or shorts and it looks like a suit) instead of a creamy or yellow ivory. It’s available in eight colors (I am eyeing up the grey and the burgundy!) and it comes in Regular, Petite, and Plus sizing.

The material is more casual (mostly cotton) than a traditional suiting material and thicker. It’s fully lined and I absolutely adore the inverted notched collar, I think it is the winning part of the design that makes it stand out for a modern look.

It’s great for the office or casually. I regularly wear this blazer for a night out with my husband or friends!

Hooded Sweater

I scooped up this Caslon hooded sweater from Nordstrom during the anniversary sale this summer and I am so glad that I did. It is quickly becoming part of my cozy morning outfit (especially for the bus stop). While this particular sweater has sold out, there is a similar one from Barefoot Dreams available here. The only difference is that it cannot be tightened at the waist or tied closed, but the colors, styles, and softness are very similar.

It works well with jeans, leggings, and your favorite joggers. It’s so cozy and always great to have for a chilly day. My older daughter has been requesting it for bus stop mornings because she says she likes to snuggle up against it while we wait.

That’s enough to make me wear the sweater every day!

Midi Skirt

This Gibson x City Safari midi skirt is fantastic! The best part for me is that it also comes in petite sizes so I do not need to get it hemmed. Celebrate!! So much about sporting a midi skirt is about where it hits your leg to make it look just right. Anyone can wear them, it’s just about the length and what you pair it with. I’ll be writing a blog post all about how to style and shop for a midi skirt soon so stay tuned!

This skirt is great for all occasions. Wear it to the office with a button-down blouse and pumps or a blazer or cardigan with a shell underneath. I have it paired here with knee-high boots and a blazer to show a little more versatility in seasonal options. But it could be paired with booties too, almost anything goes!

For casual days, you could opt for flip flops, sandals, sneakers, booties, or heels. Whatever your mood is that day will work! It’s so easy to toss on a t-shirt and a sweater or denim jacket too.

The skirt is available in black, red, and a fun print they call sunset cheetah! All are fantastic options to add to your closet and the midi skirt isn’t going anywhere so give this a try if you haven’t already.

Reversible Jacket

This reversible jacket is so much fun. It can be worn as a black or a leopard bomber! Perfect for casual or nights out on the town, the material gives it a little more of a dressed up feel.

At the same time, I would also highly suggest it for a casual Friday in the office, which would be a great way to mix things up from a standard blazer.

It’s like two jackets for the price of one!
