Happy Tuesday and hello everyone! I hope you had a restful and wonderful weekend. It’s time for another “Try It On Tuesday” edition and this time it is Amazon focused. Within the last year, I have been trying out some Amazon finds for fashion. Many of the purchases ship via Prime within 1-2 days (check the listing to confirm, I am still waiting for a pair of pajamas that were not Prime and it looks like it will be another month so I am considering canceling the order, I’ll keep you posted!). I have also had great luck with returns as well when an item does not fit properly, either with an exchange or an easy drop-off to the UPS store (and I didn’t need to print or package a thing). If you need to return an item, it is as simple as finding the item in your order history, mark return and the reason, and then Amazon will give you options of drop-off location and how you want your return funds applied. It’s easy and practically effortless both to order or for any potential returns (look for the item marked as Prime and Free Returns). If you are not a Prime member and want to give it a try, feel free to use this link for a free 30-day trial.

On to the review session, let’s take a look at what I tried on and kept! Would you also like to see posts about what I did not keep when the occasion presents itself? Let me know in the comments below!

Button-Down Shirt

A wardrobe staple at its best! This button-down comes in 16 different colors and prints. I had a tough time choosing what color I wanted because the options are all fantastic. I opted for the pink stripe and the material is 100% cotton so it’s very comfortable and soft. The cut is fitted without making the buttons hard to fasten or stay closed and it is a thick material without feeling like my husband’s starchy button-down dress shirt. In so many words, it’s a very comfortable shirt that you can wear on the weekend with jeans or wear it to the office in a more traditional setting with a skirt, pants, or layer it underneath your favorite power suit.

Not only are there great patterns and colors to choose from, but the shirt also comes in a basic black or white. I highly recommend having both colors (or a white button-down shirt at a minimum) in your closet. It is always a closet staple so if you are in need of either color for your wardrobe, this is a perfect and very reasonably priced opportunity. Consider this your sign if you’ve been waiting!

I’m going to pick up a few other colors now that I know how great the shirt is and fits. I am thinking about either the navy dot or the white dot for a classic and timeless look that will stay in my closet for years. My kids always ask me if I am wearing Daddy’s shirt when I wear plaid or gingham. I remind them that girls can also wear these shirts and patterns regularly but it doesn’t seem to be sinking in yet. I will continue to relay the message.

Crewneck T-Shirts

While we are on the subject of closet staples, a great fitting and comfortable t-shirt in black or white is also important. There are 34 colors combinations to choose from in this listing and the shirts come in a 2-pack. Whether you are only looking for black and white to replace your shirts each year or two or to fill in other colors, there are many great combinations to choose from here. The shirt is a blend of materials heavily made up of cotton with some spandex in it so it is soft but also stretchy and form fitting (but not too tight).

The length of the shirt is great as well as the thickness of the material. Why are so many t-shirts thin and practically see through? It’s hot in the summer where I live, I do not want to have to layer another tank top under my t-shirt. This shirt does not require a layer underneath.

The crewneck on this t-shirt is a little looser so it does not feel high up against your neck and cut you off at the chest. I enjoy the small scoop in the crewneck so it is elongating for my torso and chest, neckline is very important for each body type and for proportions. Another great option would be the V-neck t-shirt (also in a 2-pack), which has the same 33 colors combinations and made from the same material.

Floral Skirt

This floral skirt does triple duty from warm summer days with sandals, to cooler weather dressy-casual outfits, and to the office by adding a blazer. Here I show you three easy ways to style this fun skirt in the pictures so you can make this a versatile piece in your wardrobe for all occasions. It’s fully lined, which is always a bonus with a skirt or dress in a breezy material. The waistband is elastic all the way around, but not too snug where it digs into your midsection after lunch or dinner out. It’s comfortable all day, plus it has pockets. Yay! You know I love a dress or skirt with pockets.

Another big hit for me with this purchase is that I am 5’2” and did not have to get this dress hemmed. It’s a great length for those of us that are petite but could also hit at the mid-calf for those that are taller. It’s a really nice cut for all heights and body types.

Black Tunic

Wondering what to wear with leggings as we transition into cooler temperatures? Look no further, this soft tunic has your backside covered. 😂Just throwing in some humor and checking to see if you are still reading this post 😉 It comes in 5 colors and has a loose fit which is very comfortable. The side slits and slightly longer back at the hem give the shirt a nice flow. I expect this tunic will receive a lot of wear from me now while it is warm and later when I can layer a cardigan over it during the cold months.

Not a leggings person? This tunic is also great with skinny jeans too. Anything that is tight on the bottom would work well as this tunic balances out the proportion. The booties I am wearing from Vince Camuto are available from Amazon as well.

Fit tip: I ordered one size down from my regular size

Scoop Neck Bodysuit

A fantastic layering piece when you don’t want the bulk of another shirt and you want the bottom layer to stay nicely tucked in for the day or night. I ordered this tank bodysuit in both black and white and only ended up keeping the black. The white was a little tight on me and unfortunately going up a size wasn’t going to help. I am keeping the black though as it will serve me well under cardigans, blazers, and the new fall staple of sweater coats and blazers. I am wearing the tank with jeans just to show you the fit, but I don’t see myself wearing it this way even though I think you absolutely can and should. I am not a tank top person for some reason and I feel like I am in a Jordache commercial from my childhood days.

Fall/Winter Hat

I love hats and I wish I had occasions to wear them more often. I am excited about both hats I purchased this year from Amazon. My Fedora straw summer hat and this new fedora wool fall/winter hat and both are made by the same company. Both hats are one size fits all and there is a ribbon inside to tighten the hat if needed. There are tons of colors and belt buckle combinations to choose from and I wasn’t sure whether to go with this wine color or a light brown/khaki.

Ultimately I decided that my fall and winter coats are camel and black so the wine color with the black belt would be the most complimentary.

Also, this sweater is from the J. Crew Factory try-on session I did last week. If you caught Meghan Markle attending the U.S. Open this weekend to support her friend Serena, then you know there was a lot of talk about what she was wearing. She had on a J.Crew denim shirtdress (which has promptly sold out) and the J.Crew Juliette sweater. However, the sweater I am wearing is in the exact same fashion from J.Crew Factory called the Vanessa sweater AND the price is lower (I recommend ordering one size down from usual fit). Also, if you are looking for a similar denim shirtdress here is a Women’s Caslon Long Sleeve Denim Shirtdress

The Drop

Last, but not least is this fun floral top from Amazon’s The Drop designed by THEFASHIONGUITAR (aka Charlotte Groeneveld). If you have not heard of The Drop before, allow me to introduce you. Amazon works with influencers on limited edition, made to order capsule clothing collections. The clothing line is released, limited quantities can be ordered, and then when it is gone, it’s gone. Sadly, this top is sold out.

But, the point of this is that I did want to let you in on this bit of information so if you are interested in future collections, you can sign up for text message alerts. If I order and then wait to show you my favorites once the clothing is made, shipped, received, etc. they are sold out for the collection.  If you like learning about The Drop, let me know so I can share more ahead of time before and when a collections drops. Also, give them a follow on Instagram here.  Here is the link to read all the details.

It’s a really cool concept and I like to see all of the collections and designs that the influencers and Amazon create.

Have you purchased any clothing items from Amazon lately? I love to hear what your finds are, tell me in the comments below!
