Whether it is for the weekend or working from home, I rounded up seven of the most comfortable loungewear pants to keep you cozy all day long and pairs you will continue to wear now and later.

If you’re anything like me, I have to be comfortable. I’m sensitive to materials on my skin as well as the fit of a clothing piece. If there is slight discomfort, it will bother me all day, and I have a lot of trouble concentrating or staying focused. Right now, I can use all the help I can get. Unlike prior quarantine days, I now get interrupted constantly so whatever I can do to help myself feel calm and happy (read cozy and comfortable!), the better.

I hope this loungewear guide provides you with a few new options to consider or even ones you might already have in your closet. Here we go!

1. Joggers

This type of loungewear pant is having a major comeback and I am not mad about it. Joggers are so comfortable and can be dressed up or down (see this prior post for some ideas). So someday when we go back out into the world, you can absolutely rev these pants up with some heels or strappy sandals or enjoy them with your favorite sneakers, sandals, or flip flops.

I am wearing this pair from Vuori that I purchased from Nordstrom or you can order them directly from Vuori’s site here. They are really soft, comfortable, have pockets and the length is petite friendly. In the first picture, I have the joggers paired with one of my favorite cardigans from h.huna and a classic grey t-shirt for at home workwear. You can read more about h.huna in this prior post (I adore this brand from the UK, love what they stand for, and their timeless designs are beautifully crafted).

In the second picture, I also paired it with my favorite Tory Burch Miller sandals, the same grey t-shirt, and a classic denim jacket for slightly warmer weather with a casual vibe. This would also be a great travel outfit when that opens back up at some point.

2. Beyond Yoga Leggings

All hail the high waisted yoga pant that holds everything together. I bought my first pair of Beyond Yoga leggings at my local barre studio and I was hooked. They fit really well and I love the high waist for exercise classes or bending down when I am with my kids. I have had mine for two years and they have held up nicely. Plus, the space-dye leggings are really soft.

I was chatting with a friend recently and she mentioned this brand too. She loves them for the same reasons I do. Beyond Yoga is available on Amazon here or when your local fitness studios open back up, you can always check their inventory because they likely sell them. Absolutely worth it!

3. Betabrand

I first heard about these dress pant yoga pants on a podcast I regularly listen to called Happier in Hollywood (which I highly recommend by the way). Yoga pants that you can wear to work? Yes, please!! I ordered a pair recently and was very pleased with the design, material, and options for colors. I decided to get a pair of sailor pants in a boot cut design. There are lots of options for wide leg, straight leg, skinny leg, standard boot cut, and more. I’m just a sucker for the sailor buttons and pockets in a pant.

I was also really pleased to see that they come in a variety of lengths and ordered them in the petite size. They are a great length for me with a pair of platform sneakers on a weekend or work from home day and also pair well with heels for the office or business meeting. They are a thicker material than yoga pants so even though they have that yoga comfort, I don’t feel like I am wearing my exercise clothes and I can give them a dressed-up feel if I choose.

4. J.Crew Factory Sweatpants

I purchased these super soft and comfortable loungewear pants last summer. I wear them a lot and they’ve held up really well. I purchased my usual size and although they are a little long for me, it still works a little bunched up at the ankle for a cozy look. I wear these around the house or on a cozy weekend day to run errands and the soft material is oh so nice.

To be honest, I think they might be one of the softest pair of loungewear pants that I own. I am thinking about picking up another color or two during the sale because they are that good!

I’ve also been known to wear them as pajama pants when it is chilly. I wrote more about these pants in an earlier post that you can read about here.

5. Zella Leggings

Another pair of fabulous high waisted leggings. Honestly, I hope that we never go back to other waist types, because high waisted is my absolute favorite cut. It holds everything in, stays up when I bend over or exercise, and slims my hips and belly. Keep an eye out for sales at Nordstrom on these beauties, as there have been so many sales at retailers over this time. They are a soft material with light compression in the fabric and the material is not see-through but not too thick either.

6. Lululemon Align

The holy grail of workout leggings according to many superfans. They are buttery soft and come in lots of different colors and three lengths. The 25 inch works for petite loungewear. Like many Lululemon products, I always go one size up as they run a little tight on me. If you want to make the splurge, these are probably the softest pair of leggings I have come across and I have a feeling once you try them on, you won’t want to take them off.

7. Linen or Chino Pants

Want comfy loungewear pants that aren’t tight and feel more like you are ready for a casual walk on the beach? Try a pair of these J.Crew Factory linen-cotton blend drawstring pants. They come in a variety of colors and two lengths (regular and petite) and they can be easily dressed up or down.

I also just ordered these cropped linen beach pants from J.Crew because anything that reminds me of the beach works for me. Also, these are marked as cropped but because I am 5’2”, I fully expect to wear these as standard ankle-length wide leg pants but we’ll see how that goes.

Elastic waistbands and a soft straight leg or wide leg design are both comfortable and perfect for now and later. They dress up or down so easily with a change of the shoe and jewelry. Plus the cut is classic and you’ll be able to wear these for many years. Here is another pair from Everlane as their straight leg chino with a relaxed fit and elastic waistband.

I hope this post has provided some additional options for your work home outfits and comfortable loungewear ideas. I’ll be posting more options like jumpsuits, dresses, and sweaters/cardigans that you can wear now and later in separate blog posts. You want to make sure you invest in pieces you will continue to wear into the future as well as ones that mix and match with items already in your closet. These 7 items listed above will do just that.

What pants have you been wearing to work from home? Are any of the items listed above already on your favorites list?
